Married at First Sight UK teases 'secret crush' as Gemma grows suspicious over 'gut instinct'

Married at First Sight UK's latest episode proved to be a pretty intense one, but it looks like there's more drama to come. In a teaser clip during the end of the episode that aired on Thursday, September 22, the show explained that a "secret crush is revealed".

The episode will see the bride and grooms sent away on a mini-break, however, it looks far from relaxing. In scenes set to air next week, tensions flare once again as Thomas and April are seen arguing over the dinner table before a "secret crush" is revealed.

The camera then pans to Matt, who says: "If I had to choose somebody different in here, I'd probably say Whitney." Before Whitney then adds: "I'd probably have to say, Matt, I can see that he's like a good person."

Speaking later, Matt's wife Gemma then tells Adrian and Thomas: "I'm questioning whether there's more to this story, my gut instinct is going crazy." Viewers will have to wait until next week's episode to see what unfolds, but the trailer comes after a pretty explosive episode.

Called Love/Hate week, the instalment saw all the couples engage in some pretty uncomfortable conversations. They were tasked with getting honest with one another, asking a set of questions in some cases and sharing what they loved and hated about one another in others.

The challenge proved difficult and emotional for some with George and April, Duka and Whitney and Matt and Gemma all falling out. Tensions reached a dramatic high, however, when Chanita and Jordan hosted Matt and Gemma for dinner.

The scene ended with a tearful Gemma walking out and apologising to camera crew, telling them "I'm sorry guys, I'm not doing this."

Prior to the dinner, Gemma said: "I've been trying really hard with Matt but he's always looking for a problem and I'm looking for an answer, I'm trying to spend quality time together and his priority is the gym and his lad friends that are in the experiment."

During dinner, the hair salon owner tried explaining to Matt that she was eager to spend time together as they'd come to the experiment halfway through as late additions, and so had less time than everybody else.

"I wanted a solid relationship or even the basis of a relationship," she told him, to which Matt responded: "I can't get to grips with where I'm standing day to day, that's my struggle at the minute."

The pair shared some heated words before Gemma told the table: "Right, I'm going to go. Sorry guys." Turning to Matt, she added: "It's not fair, I just want to know where I stand with you. I just said to you do you see a future."

Matt avoided the question before Gemma added: "You never see it from my point of view, you're so f**king strong-minded, why can't you see it from my point of view for once?" A tearful Gemma then walked away as Matt told Jordan: "I'm sick of seeing her upset."

It's been a bumpy road for Matt and Gemma who first fell out when Matt stormed out over his wife's sexual remarks. You can read more on this here. For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
