Married at First Sight Australia will probably go down in the history of 2023 as one of the most explosive series yet. From cheating scandals to controversial characters, it was bursting with drama which saw more couples than ever decide to call it quits before final vows.
Following its airing Down Under back in January, the Channel 4 show premiered to UK audiences in March and has been keeping us on the edge of our seats each week as we tune into the explosive dinner parties and commitment ceremonies.
But with series 10 being filmed last year and the final dinner party and vows having already taken place, many viewers will be speculating what relationships continued off-camera and have gone the distance.
So which MAFS Australia 2023 couples are still together? Here’s a look into some of the success stories, and the sadly larger amount of unsuccessful...
Melinda and Layton
With business power couple Melinda and Layton getting themselves off on uneven ground due to their clashing "alpha" personalities, it didn't appear they would last very long.
But after being encouraged to "follow his heart and not his head," Layton was able to put his analytical thinking to the side and be in the moment with his fashion and beauty educator wife. Mel's ability to adapt and be patient with her husband's feelings also saw the couple work hard at their relationship. We can all take a sigh of relief because the couple are still together after a rocky time of drama on the show.
After making it all the way to the final vows, they decided to give their marriage a shot. If their social media presence is anything to go by, they seem to be going well so far! Melinda posted a sweet video to her Instagram last month which was a highlights reel of images and videos of the pair enjoying many days out, cosy nights in, trips away and date nights together.
According to Daily Mail Australia, Layton and Melinda were also spotted on a double date with fellow MAFS series ten couple, Tahnee and Ollie.
Layton is said to be considering moving from Sydney to Brisbane to be closer to Melinda: "I love Brisbane. I think it's awesome. We've just been waiting for the show to finish airing to sort out timings, and what that looks like," he said.
Tahnee and Ollie
You probably already guessed this one, but yes! The 'golden couple' of this year's show are still together and have continued to go from strength to strength away from the experiment.
Did they even argue once? We must have missed it. Despite being the youngest couple on this year's show they ended up being one of the most emotionally intelligent contestants the programme has ever had.
According to reports, the couple have even signed a 12-month lease on a house in Sydney and have moved in together, but not before finding out they are actually related. Tahnee's brother-in-law is Ollie's second cousin, so while they are not blood relations, it certainly highlights how small a world we live in!
The couple have also spoken about family plans, with Tahnee telling Who magazine: "We don't want kids right now. It's something we've discussed though.
"Right now, I'm just living my life and if that happens for me one day, then I'll be blessed."
Bronte and Harrison
Likely the marriage ending in tears that we all saw coming, Harrison and his wife Bronte were one of the more controversial couples on this year's show from the moment they met at the altar, as it came to light Harrison had someone "on the outside."
And things continued to escalate in all the wrong directions as Bronte's friends on the show attempted to steer her away from her "manipulative marriage" to the 32-year-old builder. It’s no surprise to anyone that Harrison and Bronte are no longer together after the drama they endured.
Despite there previously having been some speculation the couple were still together after they were spotted hand-in-hand in Sydney, Harrison has since gone public with his girlfriend Gina.
“They’ve kept their relationship under wraps until now,” a source told Daily Mail, adding: “But with Harrison’s TV marriage officially over, they’re thrilled to be able to go public.”
Alyssa and Duncan
Despite Duncan and Alyssa being one of the strongest couples on the show, having appeared to fall in love from the moment they met each other at the altar, they are no longer together.
It will come as no shock to fans of the Channel 4 reality show who gazed into their marriage over the weeks, as it turned from being happy and carefree to taking a rather unexpected sour turn over Alyssa's need for constant reassurance as a single mum.
Duncan reportedly blindsided his wife when he called off their relationship as he hit the final straw from feeling "shut off" from her, with the groom later revealing Alyssa hasn’t responded to any of his messages since.
"Maybe it's our personalities or differing mindsets. Either way, the gap seems too big to bridge. I don't want to hurt you or continue getting hurt so I have to say goodbye," Duncan said during his final vows.
Alyssa was shocked by Duncan's decision and said "I was not expecting that," before walking away in tears. The pair have not been seen together since going their separate ways, despite both of them living on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Duncan has also been rumoured to be dating co-star Evelyn.
Rupert and Evelyn
One of the most comical pairings were Rupert and Evelyn, who got off to a very fumbling start at the altar when Rupert was blown away by his modelling wife's beauty so much that he completely minced his words.
Viewers weren't sure whether to feel sorry for him or hide their giggles at the awkward first meeting, and it didn't look like they would last long.
Fellow groom Cameron even exclaimed at the wedding she was going to "annihilate him" due to the stark difference in their personalities, with Evelyn being evidently more outspoken than her husband.
Despite forming an unlikely connection and making it to final vows, they decided to call it quits due to poor communication, with Rupert saying: “I think our communication [style] is a lot different.”
Evelyn added she thought their relationship “wasn’t strong enough to handle an argument”.
Lyndall and Cameron
At first sight, Lyndall and Cameron appeared to make a perfect MAFS match, as viewers had high hopes for the pair together.
But things went downhill over Lyndall not feeling she was "getting what she deserved" from her husband, who had never been in a serious relationship before.
They kept working at it and managed to make it through to the final vows, where Lyndall dropped a bomb and told Cameron she felt she had to “beg for a shred of affection” as Cameron walked away. They split three months after the cameras stopped rolling, reported Daily Mail Australia.
Cam is now dating his new girlfriend Cheyanne "She is absolutely stunning... She is a keeper," he told the publication.
Claire and Jesse
You won’t be shocked to hear that Claire and Jesse are no longer together following the cheating scandal that gripped this year's series when she shared a "drunken kiss" with fellow groom Adam.
Despite the pair working hard at their marriage in an attempt to come back from the scandal, things weren't meant to be as marriage celebrant Jesse admitted to himself he couldn't move past it.
We did see Claire admit they had managed to 'stay friends' but it appears that was short-lived as Jesse took to social media following the reunion show to set the record straight.
Writing on Facebook, Jesse explained: "Allow me to clarify. Almost everything I say about Claire that night has been craftily edited to appear that there’s still a chance for us."
He added: "I actually spent the entire drive to the reunion talking about how I wasn't too keen on seeing Claire or Adam and how I wanted to mostly be by myself that night. What you saw was Claire and I simply being polite, friendly and kind to each other. No need for a fight."
Sandy and Dan
Sandy and Dan are definitely not still together after they left during the fourth commitment ceremony. We previously reported how Channel 4 viewers were left "disgusted" over his seemingly 180 turn on his wife after the pair slept together.
Dental hygenist Sandy had risked everything to be on the reality show, having gone against her religion and parents' wishes and was left heartbroken when it all came crashing down.
The infamous butt-dial scandal saw Dan overheard saying some horrible things about his wife, before they both admitted their relationship wasn’t working.
Plot twist? Dan is now in a new relationship with nurse and influencer Samantha Symes, who he has been friends with for years and was a guest at his and Sandy’s wedding, reports Hello!
Sandy has spoken out since the show and said she doesn't regret any of it, that the experience has "made her a much stronger person" to go on and be a voice for other women of her culture.
Melissa and Josh
Probably one of the most heartbreaking departures this year was Melissa and Josh after the single dad was reduced to tears following the treatment from his self-confessed 'horny' wife and her constant need for affection.
They both left the experiment after just a few weeks when Josh hit his breaking point over her often nasty comments towards him and his 'manhood'.
While Melissa wanted to stay, Josh decided to leave and the experts allowed him to break things off and go home as they warped the rules of the show seeing how much emotional turmoil he was visibly in.
Josh has since defended his ex-wife after she received a lot of backlash after the show, with Melissa also apologising for her actions. He allegedly had a short fling after kissing Lyndall the day after filming the reunion in December, when the MAFS cast went for a night out in Sydney.
Janelle and Adam
Of course, the Janelle and Adam cheating scandal rocked this series of MAFS Australia this year, when Adam shared a kiss with fellow co-star Claire. The businessman has since spoken out on his remorse over how he handled the situation at the time.
Adam also confirmed the couple are no longer together, recently telling Daily Mail Australia: “Janelle and I really early on, realised we weren’t each other’s people."
“We were there for the opportunity by the end of it, we had that conversation.”
Janelle wrote: "Although I’ve gained trust issues now, I can say with confidence that I have built forever friendships. "The women in this experiment are all boss b*tches. Luckily for me, I found incredible friendships that I will treasure for life #MAFS."
Caitlin and Shannon
Another couple who parted ways was Caitlin and Shannon after they left during the second commitment ceremony. Shannon said some horrible things about Caitlin’s appearance before shockingly admitting he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend.
Shannon has reportedly gone on to become a delivery driver following his time on the show and is expecting a second child with 'ex' Jamea Drake he was texting during filming - as she reveals they've already broken up, according to Daily Mail Australia.
But it looks like Caitlin has found her perfect match as she is now dating osteopathy student Kobe Barton after meeting in November last year and according to the Daily Mail Australia, they hit it off 'instantly' and are now inseparable.
An insider told the publication: “They were friends at first, but it was clear that there was an undeniable chemistry between them.
“After all the heartache she suffered with Shannon, it's wonderful to see Caitlin so happy and in love.”
They added: “She deserves every bit of happiness, and Kobe is just the perfect gentleman to give her that.”
Tayla and Hugo
A big shocker here, but Tayla and Hugo are most definitely not together. The nurse refused to sleep in the same bed as her husband throughout the entire show after admitting she wasn't attracted to him.
And things went from bad to worse on the couples' retreat where she openly spoke about 'sexting' with an ex-partner right in front of his face.
Hugo has since said: “I have zero clue why Tayla did half the things she did during our time in the experiment. It was all quite a lot and quite confusing for me.
“It was largely mixed messaging. If you say someone isn’t your type and you put in zero effort from day one, and then you flee back to Tasmania and return to say you wish to give the experiment a go!”
Tayla has also spoken about her time on the show, saying she feels like she was given a ‘villain’s edit' and said: “They didn’t really have a female villain this year and I had to slide into that role a little bit.
“I don’t think it’s a true representation of myself and it’s not reflecting who I am, but it is what it is. The people who know me know me.”
She also addressed the rumours surrounding her MAFS Australia co-star Cam, which she soon put to bed adding: "Yeah, there is a little bit of truth to that,” before calling Cam a "loose cannon," and adding it was "very one-sided."
