Marnie Simpson’s son Rox rushed to hospital and forced to spend night in A&E

Marnie Simpson was left riddled with worry after her son Rox was rushed to hospital on Tuesday.

The Geordie Shore star, 30, who shares Rox, 2, with fiancé Casey Johnson, spent the night in A&E with her little boy.

The reality TV star shared the update with fans on Instagram as she shared a concerning snap of Rox wrapped up as he and his mum waited to see a medical specialist.

Marnie confirmed that it was nothing too serious, and that Rox was suffering with a painful ear infection which seemed to get worse over time.

Alongside the snap, the mum-of-two wrote: "Spending our night in A&E with Rox bless him! Think he has an ear infection."

Doting mum Marnie and her fiancé Casey, 27, welcomed their second child, son Oax Rubi Johnson, back in May.

At the time, Marnie insisted that she had never been as happy.

"My heart could explode. Baby boy has arrived safe and sound. We’re completely in awe, our family is complete," she gushed.

Before Rox's recent hospital dash, Marnie had been spending some time in hospital amid her Oax's rare health condition.

The newborn has torticollis - a muscle problem which can cause the head to tilt - and plagiocephaly - which involves a flattened head.

The Geordie Shore alum spoke about the conditions in a post on Instagram, in which the mother-of-two said that she was 'shocked' by the severity of Oax's diagnosis.

"So basically Oax has torticollis from his position in the womb which has left him unable to move his head left," she explained.

She said that it is 'hopefully improving' with physio appointments with an osteopath, though added: "However this condition has left him with plagiocephaly".

Marnie recited the NHS description, which states that it involves the head being flattened on one side, causing it to look asymmetrical and like a parallelogram from above.

It adds that the disorder - which affects the skull - can cause the ears to be misaligned and sometimes leads to the forehead and face bulging a little on the flat side.

Marnie continued in her post: "As you can see on Oax's graph he's on the severe side which even shocked me."

"He's had his measurements taken yesterday by @technologyinmotion and in 2 weeks he'll get his helmet fitted. This company was recommended to me by various different places.

"Oax's head should end up in the yellow/green zone which is fab. Treatment should start between 4-6 months while the skulls are soft. I've taken before pictures so I can accurately compare and document the process for you all."

"I'm being open about his progress as I know so many parents don't even know about the issue and it gets left."
