Marlon Vera had a perfect reaction to Henry Cejudo’s withdrawal from UFC 292

Sometimes, there’s only one way to react to bad news.

Thursday evening, one of Ecuador’s finest, Marlon Vera received the message that his scheduled opponent for UFC 292, Henry Cejudo, announced his withdrawal from their fight due to a shoulder injury.

Soon after Cejudo posted the video, “Chito” posted a video replying to the news. His reaction? Short, sweet, and to put it bluntly, perfect.

“Well, f*ck,” Vera said in the six-second video posted on Twitter.

The fight against Cejudo would have been Vera’s second appearance of 2023, and another opportunity to fight a former UFC champion. “Chito” has fought three former champs before; He dropped a unanimous decision to Jose Aldo, but finished Frankie Edgar and Dominick Cruz.

It’s too soon to know what Vera’s next step will be now that he is without an opponent for August, but he has an idea.

“Yan step up,” Vera wrote on Twitter, calling out another former champ in Petr Yan.

Whether or not Vera remains on the pay-per-view card in Boston, he will be looking to erase the sting of a split decision loss to Cory Sandhagen in March, which snapped a four-fight winning streak.
