Marlay Park concerts have been "heard as far as Bray" as parents complained to Ryan Tubridy about the noise.
The park has been alive with concerts this week as huge bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fall Out Boy, Green Day and Guns N Roses drew huge crowds to the venue. And RTE host Tubridy today revealed that he could hear the concerts all the way from his home in Dun Laoghaire.
He told listeners: "How am I hearing concerts? It's a long way to go in terms of soundscape. If I'm hearing a thud, what must it be like living really close to the venues.

"Is it fun? Do you get a barbecue going and et stuck in? Or is it a pain in the head?"
Ryan then received a number of responses from listeners, some who were happy to hear the concerts and others who weren't so pleased with the disturbance.
One listener said: "We live in Dundrum and no, we do not like hearing the concerts every night with kids trying to get to sleep. It's been torture. Could they wait until school holidays begin to put on the concerts?"
Ryan replied: "Unfortunately, it's just a by-product of where you live. Two doors up, there's people taking out the barbecue saying 'Let's get busy and enjoy this whole affair'."
Another listener said: "Having grown up in Rathfarnham with parents still there, the sound of the Marlay concerts is really lovely when it's not heavy electronic dance music with strong base. What's less pleasant is the disruption to the public transport and traffic."
When Ryan questioned how he could hear the Marlay Park concerts from his Dun Laoghaire home, one listener pointed out that it depends on the direction of the wind carrying the sound, while another said they could be heard as far away as Bray.
