Popular high street retailer Marks and Spencer has announced the launch date for its brand new Stockport food hall.
The new 16,000 sq ft food hall, which promises to offer a 'fresh market-style design', and will create more than 70 jobs, will open to customers on Wednesday, June 14. This comes after M&S closed down it's Stockport store in Merseyway shopping centre in 2018.
The brand new store will open at Stockport Retail Park later this month with a new-look food hall that the retailer says is designed to deliver Stockport customers a 'bigger, better and fresher experience than ever before'.

Anna Priest, Store Manager at M&S Stockport, commented: “We’re so excited to open our brand-new store on 14 June. My amazing M&S Stockport team has been working really hard behind the scenes to get the store ready and we can’t wait for our local customers to experience it for themselves.
"The new Foodhall is much larger than our former store and packed with so many exciting new features and great quality M&S food products, so whether you’re looking for a big family food shop, or dropping by for some daily essentials – we’ve got you covered.”
Highlights in the new, fresh-market style food hall include fresh displays packed full of produce from M&S Select Farms, a 'bigger-than-ever' M&S Bakery offering freshly baked bread, cakes and pastries throughout the day, and a dedicated M&S Wine Shop featuring an award-winning selection of drinks.
M&S have also said that with a huge new range of M&S Remarksable products – including Super Soft sliced bread, RSCPA Assured fresh milk, and beef mince from trusted M&S Select Farmers – the new food hall will deliver trusted value for local customers.
The launch of the new store is part of a £34m investment by the retailer in new and existing stores in the north west. A new full-line store is also set to be created at the former Debenhams site at the Trafford Centre, and another full-line store being created in Liverpool. Also included in this investment is a new food hall in Macclesfield, opening November 30, and the store in Bury's the Rock was also enhanced.
Back in January when the new M&s food hall was announced, Sacha Berendji, Retail Operations Director, said: "Whilst other retailers go online, or sadly disappear, we are committed to having great shops. This means having the right store, in the right place, with the right space to serve our customers the way they want to shop today. We’re really pleased to confirm our plans to invest in Stockport by opening a new M&S Foodhall that will create around 70 new jobs for the local economy and will offer local customers a brilliant place to shop our wide range of M&S Food products.
