Shares edge higher as Trump mulls auto tariff relief

Australian shares have posted a second straight day of gains for the first time since US 'Liberation Day' tariffs sparked weeks of market volatility.

The S&P/ASX200 rose 13.1 points, or 0.17 per cent, to 7761.7, as the broader All Ordinaries gained 10.2 points, or 0.13 per cent, to 7969.9.
