Mark Zuckerberg's trainer makes feelings clear over Meta CEO's Elon Musk cage fight

Mark Zuckerberg’s trainer Khai Wu has spoken for the first time about the potential fight with Elon Musk.

On June 21, the two billionaires seemingly agreed to cage fight during a Twitter exchange. It began to emerge following a story that Zuckerberg was reportedly interested in starting his own company similar to Twitter.

Musk purchased Twitter in 2022 for close to £34 billion ($43bn) and took to his platform to send a reply to a story about the rumour. “I'm up for a cage match if he is lol.”

Zuckerberg heard about the tweet and sent a message of his own, where he said: “Send me location.” This led to speculation over whether a fight would actually take place.

UFC boss Dana White recently revealed that the two billionaires are “absolutely dead serious” over arranging the fight. The Octagon at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas has been mentioned as a potential venue for the fight should it happen.

Speaking to TMZ Live on June 22, White said: “Talked with Mark and Elon last night, both guys are absolutely dead serious about this.”

White added: “The biggest fight of all time was Floyd [Mayweather] and Conor [McGregor], I just think it triples that - it triples what that did, there's no limit on what that thing can make.”

Mixed martial artist Sean Strickland recently offered his support to Musk in the event that the fight gets arranged. But Zuckerberg himself has been taking part in MMA in his spare time.

The Meta CEO has been training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and working with Wu, who is his trainer. Wu, known as ‘The Shadow’ says that he thinks the idea of a fight between Zuckerberg and Musk is “crazy,” and would stop short of giving an actual prediction.

“My job is a trainer. I just go and train,” Wu told Forbes . “I can only speak on how hard he [Zuckerberg] works. He [Zuckerberg] works really hard.

“He’s a really nice guy to be honest with you. I’m not sure how the fight will play out, so I don’t want to speculate, but I’m like you, I’m like, ‘How crazy is this?’”

Wu added: “The mindset here is important. I think a lot of people who are successful like him [Zuckerberg] tend to just go, ‘I know it all,’ you know, but he's still like [a] student, white belt, shows up, trains hard, puts in the effort, and likes to learn, you know.

“He's a student of the game. I wouldn't be surprised if he became an athlete or competed at a higher level in some sort of athletic sport. Because he really is a student of the game that's, how I describe him.”
