Mark Wright scolded by Ruth Langsford for forgetting how long he's been with Michelle

Ruth Langsford was quick to tease Mark Wright on Thursday's Loose Women as he spoke about his relationship with Michelle Keegan.

Mark, 35, joined Ruth on the ITV lunchtime show alongside Frankie Bridge and Dragons' Den star Stephen Bartlett as they spoke about long distance romances.

Mark married former Coronation Street actress Michelle in May 2015 and the pair lived apart when Mark worked in Los Angeles from 2017 until 2020.

Asked if there was pressure to act a certain way when reunited in a long distance relationship, Mark replied: "I think if you're in love and you're in a happy relationship, when you first see each other it's the best feeling in the world, even if it's been two days.

"But I do think in our earlier days of being apart we were expecting a lot when we got back together and if there was a bit of a silent patch in this amazing moment you're like, 'why are you being silent? Is there a problem?'

"But you've just gotta learn that you've been together a long time... I think we've been like 10 years now and you know even if it's been..."

"You think, you think 10 years?" Ruth interrupted him as Mark laughed awkwardly and quickly said: "I think it's been about 10 years!"

"I'm not trying to call you out or anything," Ruth joked as Frankie added: "You're just trying to get him in trouble!" as Mark shouted: "I'm going!"

"So yeah there is a bit of pressure but I think as long as you communicate, communication is so important," Mark then said.

He went on to say that he made the decision to move back from Los Angeles because he preferred being closer to Michelle.

"Essentially I moved back from a job that I was on a five year deal in LA, and not necessarily because Michelle wanted me to, because that's not the case at all, but I knew that we prefer being in England soI left that job behind after two years to move back to where I prefer us," he explained.

"And I've done that with so many jobs, and Michelle's also... you know she no longer does Our Girl which took her all around the world and we know that things like that, it's better being together. You do put business on the back burner when it matters most," he added.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
