The Arizona Cardinals experienced remarkable consistency on their coaching staff this offseason, but there has been one change with the exit of assistant strength and conditioning coach Mark Naylor.
Prior to 2023, Naylor and Buddy Morris were the only strength and conditioning coaches on the team with Morris in charge and Naylor his assistant.
However, a new approach occurred after the arrival of general manager Monti Ossenfort and head coach Jonathan Gannon, first with the addition of Shea Thompson as director of player performance, a new position in the organization.
Not long afterward four additions were made to the staff. Morris became the senior reconditioning coordinator and worked closely with players rehabbing injuries, while Naylor stayed in his same role.
Hired then was head strength and conditioning coach Evan Marcus, assistant strength and conditioning coaches Jason Benguche and Everrett Gathron along with sports science coordinator and assistant strength and conditioning coach Kyle Sammons.
Naylor started with the Cardinals in 2020 after one year with the Ravens and 11 at Ball State, Michigan and Eastern Kentucky.
It is believed his contract wasn’t renewed after the conclusion of the 2023 season and there won’t be a replacement on the six-person staff.
