Cardiff City interim boss Mark Hudson hopes he will be the permanent manager come Saturday afternoon when the Bluebirds welcome Sheffield United to the Welsh capital.
Owner Vincent Tan revealed he had offered Hudson the manager's job until the end of the season during an interview he held with small sections of the Welsh media including WalesOnline.
Hudson said after the disappointing defeat by Hull City that there were some small things which needed to be ironed out before it was made official.

However, it appears that situation has moved on in the 36 hours since the Tigers defeat.
"I have been offered it until the end of the season," Hudson said. "Which is great for the staff, players, everyone involved. It's some clarity, which is what we needed. It’s in the process of being drawn up as we speak.
"It’s in the process of being drawn up. It's a quick turnaround but we will probably for it to be all done by Saturday I imagine.
"For everyone involved it is (good to have clarity). I spoke to everyone this morning about it, I think, for staff as well, to know where we stand we can now we can get our heads down and look forward, something which is important to all of us. The players are in good spirits."
The players have had to pick themselves up after the midweek loss, however two players in particular received some fantastic news ahead of this weekend's Championship fixture.
Both Mark Harris and Rubin Colwill have been included in Rob Page's 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar and Hudson is delighted for the young duo.
"What an achievement!" Hudson said. "As soon as the announcement was made I was straight on the phone to message them both. It’s huge for the football club and for Wales.
"We were glad to see Rubin back the other night and he has got the call up. Obviously Mark deserves his as well.
"We are so happy for them and their families. Everyone involved. To have a World Cup against your name is brilliant. Now they have to go and perform on the biggest stage.
"Sparky (Harris) was still smiling from ear to ear, he couldn’t believe it this morning. I told him he deserves it and so does Rubin."

Both are fit and hopeful of playing a part against Sheffield United at the weekend, however one player who will not be involved is Jaden Philogene.
The Aston Villa loanee is out with a sports hernia, a blow considering how well he had been playing up until the injury.
"He has got an issue," Hudson said. "He has got a sports hernia. He is off to see a specialist so he will miss the weekend.
"He has had this issue for a while and he has been managing it with the physios. It’s been overloaded, which we knew. They’ve done well to find out what it is. He will see a specialist, but if it is that, it won’t be too long, which is good news.
"We wanted to wait a little bit longer. He has been really influential over those three games and we will have to see where he is. We wanted him available for Hull and Sheffield United but it’s a bit too much and it’s put him in some discomfort. We've got to protect him as well, it needs looking at."
