Mark Drakeford has revealed the only two words Liz Truss said to him during her infamous and short lived period as Prime Minister.
Unlike all previous Prime Minister during the devolution era, Liz Truss did not call any of the devolved leaders on the day she took office. For the entire length of her premiership she did not contact the First Minister despite repeated public requests for her to do so.
Liz Truss had said during her leadership campaign that the best way to tackle Nicola Sturgeons calls for an indepdence referendum was to "ignore her". New PM Rishi Sunak by contrast called both Mark Drakeford and Nicola Sturgeon on the day he took office.
In an interview with the i, Mark Drakeford revealed that he and Ms Truss had communicated very briefly during a memorial service for the Queen. When asked if any words were said to him by Liz Truss, he said: "Hello Mark - that's the full script, verbatim."
In the same interview the First Minister said he was "cross" with himself after his recent outburst in the Senedd with Andrew RT Davies. That video went wild receiving hundreds of thousands of views online.
