Mark Applegarth has stated that he does not believe there is any substance behind reports linking Leeds Rhinos with a shock move for Mason Lino. The halfback had been surprisingly linked with a move to Headingley this week.
Those reports, however, appear to be unfounded. The Wakefield Trinity head coach hinted that Lino, as well as other existing members of the squad, could be set to sign new deals with the club despite its current plight on the table.
Wakefield are bottom of Super League after their winless start and currently four points adrift of safety. However, it appears that hasn't put some off committing their future to the club.

When asked if he believed there was substance behind reports linking Lino with Leeds, Applegarth said: "Not that I know of.
"Definitely, I've got a really good relationship with Mason. I think there will be some good news over the next two or three days all being well with regards to some of our players who are out of contract.
"There has been a lot happening behind the scenes. Getting that culture where we want it and the players we've identified are going to be key to that. Mason Lino is a key part of that."
Applegarth added that he "hadn't seen" reports linking Jordy Crowther with a move to Castleford Tigers.
