Mark Andrews opens up on “scary” car accident that “puts things in perspective”

Friday saw Mark Andrews practice for the first time since he was involved in a car accident on his way to the team’s facility on August 14. Today, he also spoke to reporters for the first time since the accident.

The Ravens star tight end opened up about how the traumatic incident deeply affected him.

“It was definitely a serious thing,” Andrews said to the assembled media.

“For me, it puts things in perspective of tell the people that you’re around that you love them, and wear your seatbelt.

“You never know what’s gonna happen on the road. You never know what things might be thrown at you, what things might come at you…Yeah, it was a scary moment, put things in perspective, but I’m feeling good.”

Andrews denied any suggestion that he could be rusty for Thursday’s season opener.

Despite not practicing for over a fortnight, the Ravens TE1 indicated that he’s fully ready to go and excited about the season opener at the reigning NFL champion Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday night.

“My body feels great,” he later added.
