Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene slammed President Donald Trump over his decision to launch strikes against the Iranian regime, claiming he lied during his campaign when he promised the U.S. wouldn't get involved in new conflicts.

In a lengthy social media post, Greene different instances that she described as hypocritical from Trump and his administration. "It's always a lie and it's always America Last. But it feels like the worst betrayal this time because it comes from the very man and the admin who we all believed was different and said no more," she said.

Greene went on to say that "we thought the victory won in 2024 would be finally time to put America First," but claims that has not been the case. "Instead, we get a war with Iran on behalf of Israel that will succeed in regime in Iran. Another foreign war for foreign people for foreign regime change. For what?" she added.

Greene concluded by listing different situations that she said are more important at the domestic level, but won't be taken care of because "America is going to be force fed and gas lighted all the "noble" reasons the American "Peace" President and Pro-Peace administration had to go to war once again this year, after being in power for only a year."

Greene had already made similar claims as Washington and Iran's negotiations stalled over the past days. Earlier this week she declared "End of MAGA" and accused the president of aligning with "neocons."

"This is the Trump I supported, the man who called out the truth about the WMD in Iraq and declared NO MORE FOREIGN WARS," Greene wrote. "Now for some unknown reason, Trump has joined the neocons and will soon go to war against Iran with the same BS excuses. End of MAGA."

Her post included a video clip from the 2016 Republican presidential debate in which Trump criticized the Iraq War. In the clip, in which he stands next to then candidate Jeb Bush, Trump says: "We spent 2 trillion dollars, thousands of lives. ... Obviously it was a mistake. George Bush made a mistake. ... We should have never been in Iraq. We have destabilized the Middle East. They lied. They said there were weapons of mass destruction, there were none."
