Marjorie Taylor Greene Says GOP Figures Are 'Leading Republicans Into Slaughter' Ahead of Midterm

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene intensified her criticism of Republicans, accusing prominent conservative figures of leading the party "into slaughter going into midterms."

In a social media publication, Greene directly targeted Trump allies Laura Loomer, Mark Levin and Sen. Lindsey Graham, blaming them for what she described as strategic failures and misleading advice to Donald Trump. "Your incessant lies to President Trump have destroyed all faith in the GOP," she wrote, arguing their influence is damaging Republican prospects ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

The post was accompanied by a graphic highlighting Democratic overperformance across several states, including Texas, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Florida. While Democrats have framed these results as evidence of growing momentum, Republicans have cautioned that special elections are not always predictive of broader outcomes.

The post follows an earlier message published by Greene on Wednesday, in which she warned Republicans risk broader electoral losses after Democrats flipped a key Florida state House seat. In that earlier post, she wrote: "26 is gone but keep putting Americans last and 28 will be too," a reference widely interpreted as pointing to the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential election.

In contrast, the later post shifted from warning to blame, naming specific figures and accusing the party of abandoning its core agenda. Greene argued Republicans were more successful when focused on "America First" messaging, writing: "When I led the party on the campaign trail fighting for America First in '22 and '24, all the GOP did was win win win."

She also revisited her ongoing conflict with Trump, stating she had been labeled a "traitor" after pushing for the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Greene said that episode marked a turning point, adding that she now refuses "to fight for Trump and the Republican Party that defends the Epstein class, wages pointless foreign wars, and pursues America LAST."

Her remarks come as Republicans face early warning signs ahead of the midterms. Democrats have flipped multiple state legislative seats in special elections since the president returned to office, including a high-profile victory in a Florida district that includes Mar-a-Lago. That race, won by Democrat Emily Gregory, reversed a Republican margin of nearly 20 percentage points from 2024.
