The search for a fisherman missing more than 150 kilometres from land in north Queensland has continued today.
Two men were pulled from the ocean yesterday after their fishing boat capsized on Thursday night near Creal Reef, off the coast of Mackay.
An emergency radio beacon was triggered about 8pm on Thursday, and a multi-agency search and rescue operation began.
The beacon was 85 nautical miles from land — roughly a six-and-a-half-hour boat journey.
It is understood the three men had left on a seven-metre Goodwin Longboat for a fishing trip on Tuesday.
Today, five police and volunteer marine rescue craft are searching the waters.
Four helicopters were also part of the search yesterday.
At some point, the men were separated at sea.
The first man, a 44-year-old from Grasstree Beach, was pulled from the water just before 6am on Friday.
He was treated by paramedics on the boat before being winched to a helicopter and flown to Mackay Base Hospital.
The second man, a 43-year-old from Bray Park, was found at 11.10am.
The man told the rescue crew that the younger brother of the first man, a 41-year-old also from Grasstree Beach, was still missing.
Police have asked any recreational fishers in the area to stay alert.
