Far-right French politician Marine Le Pen, who was convicted last week of embezzling public funds and banned from running for office, cited Martin Luther King Jr in her bid to regain power.

Speaking in a video appearance for an anti-immigration Italian party at a meeting in Florence, she evoked the spirit of the US civil rights campaigner as she challenged her five year ban.
