Pressure is growing on shamed MP Margaret Ferrier after numerous Lanarkshire politicians call for her to step down.
Last week, The Rutherglen and Hamilton West representative admitted putting people's lives at risk by travelling to Westminster by train despite knowing she was displaying coronavirus symptoms in 2020.
Her guilty plea has been met with renewed calls for her to resign as an MP by local politicians, including some of her former colleagues.
But it wasn't long before Ms Ferrier's own breaching of COVID rules that she was slamming Dominic Cummings for breaking lockdown rules and calling for him to be sacked in 2020.
The former chief advisor to the Prime Minister drove 260 miles from his home in London to another home in Durham during lockdown.
A mass outcry for Mr Cummings to be removed from post continued, which included a petition of over 400,000 signatures.
Backing these calls was local MP Ms Ferrier, who said at the time: “Dominic Cummings’ actions have undermined the sacrifices that we have all been making in lockdown to protect each other from coronavirus.
“His position is untenable and he must be removed from his post now.
“The fact that Boris Johnson and senior Tories have backed Dominic Cummings, in the face of widespread and understandable public anger, demonstrates a total failure of leadership at a time of national crisis.
“The public health advice is crystal clear. For the safety of others, anyone with coronavirus symptoms must self-isolate, in line with government guidance.
“They should not leave the house for any reason.
“Anyone who needs help during periods of self-isolation should make use of the support offered through local authorities, which is open to anyone who needs it.”
Mr Cummings later resigned in November 2020.
Meanwhile Ms Ferrier, who pleaded guilty to behaving in a culpable and reckless manner last Thursday, has continually refused to resign, and currently sits in Parliament as an independent.
