Marcus Smart boldly received a new tattoo while he was flying on a private jet

Marcus Smart will have a new look when he steps on the court for his tenth professional NBA season next year.

For the first time since turning pro, Smart will not play for the Celtics as he was traded to the Grizzlies in June. Not only will he no longer wear Boston green in Memphis but he will also have a new tattoo some fans will notice on his right arm.

The 29-year-old former Defensive Player of the Year got the ink while he was flying on a private jet, which is a risky move given the unpredictable nature of turbulence in the air.

Smart was clearly not worried about that, however, and had faith in both his pilot and his tattoo artist.

That isn’t something we would recommend to everyone but good on Smart for having the guts to try it.
