It even happens to professional baseball players in MLB: Forgetting you’re supposed to be on deck to go up at bat. It’s a panicky feeling, even if it’s not your turn at-bat, just forgetting to be a part of the natural progression of the lineup.
That’s what happened to the Texas Rangers’ Marcus Semien, and the cameras from Bally Sports Southwest just happened to be focused on him as you can see the whole thing unfold on the infielder’s face: Something like, “La dee dah, chewing my gum, good game so far and — OH NO I GOTTA RUN!”
Semien talked about it after the game, too:

Literally one of the worst feelings for Marcus Semien:

He was embarrassed
"It's pretty embarrassing. I've been playing this game my whole life, and that's never happened."
