Marcus Rashford would be a "good fit" in the Liverpool attack if he decided to make an unlikely switch to Manchester United 's bitter rivals, according to Anfield legend John Barnes.
The England forward, 24, is out of contract in just over one years' time and, although he the club have the option to extend his deal for another season, speculation over his next move is growing.
Rashford has scored five goals this season having missed the first two months as he recovered from shoulder surgery.
He has often been used as a substitute by interim manager Ralf Rangnick and started on the bench for United's last three Premier League games.
With Rashford's future at Old Trafford appearing increasingly uncertain, Barnes admits he would be a welcome addition to Jurgen Klopp's frontline.

However, the former Three Lions winger stressed he cannot see the transfer happening and pointed out the Reds already have a wealth of attacking talent.
"There are lots of players who'd be a good fit for Liverpool, but it's just pure speculation," Barnes told BonusCodeBets. "Marcus Rashford would fit in at Liverpool, but he's not coming.
"Liverpool haven't been in for Bowen and he hasn't said he wants to leave. As far as I know they haven't made an enquiry. He's a good player but when you pick players out of the air and say 'would they be a good fit for Liverpool?' It's pointless.
"It's just a load of noise. Liverpool still have (Diogo) Jota, (Roberto) Firmino, (Sadio) Mane, (Mohamed) Salah, (Divock) Origi's still there and (Luis) Diaz has come in. How many people do they need for the front three?"
Diaz arrived at Anfield in a £50million transfer from Porto at the end of the January window and has already won his first trophy with Liverpool having started the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea last Sunday.
As well as the six forwards Barnes highlighted, Klopp also has Takumi Minamino at his disposal.
The Japan international, 27, is enjoying his finest season with Liverpool and fired them into the FA Cup quarter-finals with a double against Norwich City on Wednesday.
The brace took his tally to nine goals in 22 games this season, already surpassing his tally of six goals from last campaign.
Liverpool are next in action against West Ham on Saturday evening as they aim to close the gap on Manchester City at the table's summit and avenge their 3-2 defeat at the London Stadium in November.
The leaders are in action the following day as they welcome the Red Devils to the Etihad.
