Marcus Rashford posts worrying cryptic message after injury in Manchester United vs Barcelona

Manchester United's star man Marcus Rashford has posted a worrying cryptic message after he picked up an injury during the victory over Barcelona on Thursday night.

Rashford was substituted in the 88th minute for Scott McTominay. The 25-year-old had gone down injured in the second half but, immediately after receiving treatment, he was deemed fit enough to carry on.

However, Rashford shared a worrying update on his Instagram story to suggest that the injury was not as minor as first thought. The England international posted a picture showing him leaving the pitch at Old Trafford accompanied by an injured emoji.

Should the forward be out of action for a while he would be a huge miss for Erik ten Hag. Rashford has been in superb form under Ten Hag, scoring 24 goals and grabbing nine assists in 37 appearances.

The forward has not missed a match in the Premier League this season but United showed they were more than a one-man team in midweek to progress in the Europa League. Robert Lewandowski's spot-kick had put the Reds on the back foot but they showed great resilience in the second 45 to beat Barcelona.

Fred levelled the tie nearly immediately after the restart with a well-struck shot. Then, in the 73rd minute, United managed to grab the all-important winner.

After two shots were blocked, substitute Antony curled home a delightful effort in front of the Stretford End which proved to be enough to knock out the Catalan giants. Next up for United is the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley Stadium.
