Marcos Abad has thanked all those he's come across at Leeds United as he six-tenure at the club comes to an end. The Spaniard arrived in 2017 with former director of football Victor Orta, after working alongside his compatriot in Elche and Middlesbrough.
His departure comes following Daniel Farke's arrival at Elland Road this summer, with Eddie Riemer, Christopher John and Chris Domogalla all arriving in tow. Although none of them are goalkeeping specialists, Abad has been shown the exit door.
The Spanish coach has worked under Thomas Christiansen, Paul Heckingbottom, Marcelo Bielsa, Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Sam Allardyce, helping tutor regular starters like Felix Wiedwald, Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Kiko Casilla and Illan Meslier.
Meslier came under fire last season for his part in a number of defensive errors with Allardyce dropping the Frenchman, but Abad had previously been praised for helping improve the young shot stopper's game. Meslier, who has not yet returned to training given his international commitments, is expected to leave the club this summer.

In a statement released on social media, Abad said: "It has been six impressive seasons, an incredibly wonderful, professional and personal adventure.
"Thanks to so many people who have passed in this time, naming them would be endless. Everyone who has made Leeds United has made me very happy.
"Being part of this club has been one of the most beautiful things in my life, and it will always remain in my heart. MOT Come on Leeds!"
