Marcel Sabitzer thanked the Old Trafford faithful for his warm welcome after kicking off his Manchester United loan in winning fashion.
The Bayern Munich midfielder, 28, joined the Red Devils on a deal until the end of the season on deadline day of the January transfer window. He did not have to wait long to make his debut for his new club, coming off the bench in the 81st minute to help United see out a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
Sabitzer brought a calming presence to a fixture which had grown increasingly frantic following Casemiro's red card in the 70th minute. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford had put United two goals up but Jeffrey Schlupp pulled one back for the Eagles after the Brazilian's dismissal to set up a nervy finish.
