Ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Durham in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, defender Millie Turner was presented with an accolade as United celebrate their third centurion.
Turner joined captain Katie Zelem and Ella Toone in making over 100 appearances for the Women’s Super League side when she took to the field at Tottenham, just before the international break.
When asked what qualities the centre-back offers off the field, Manager Marc Skinner said: "She is a literal constant, her mood never goes too high but it never goes too low either. She's a connecting person, she connects others, and she connects people to people.
"If you ever have a bad day just look at Millie. She's always got a beautiful smile on her face and always has good, high energy.
"I mean this in the most positive way, she's a really simple person and she values life, values fun, values good conversation. Just a great person to have in our environment and obviously a player who has achieved 101 caps now for her club."
The 26-year-old returned to the pitch this season after an artery issue in her neck and has been a staple in Skinner’s backline alongside Maya Le Tissier, Hannah Blundell and Ona Batlle.
Although often overlooked with simple yet strong performances ideal from a centre-back, Turner delivers top-quality week-in-week-out for United with her 13 starts in 13 games to date, her role is pivotal in supporting and linking with Blundell and Galton down the left flank.
She will next line up for the Reds against Leicester in a top-of-the-table vs bottom-of-the-table WSL clash on Sunday, March 5 at 12.30pm at Leigh Sports Village.
