Marathwada reports 465 farmer suicides in first half of 2026

Suicide Marathwada Financial Aid Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: As many as 465 farmers committed suicide between January and June 2026 in the Marathwada region of central Maharashtra with Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district reporting the highest cases at 109, an official report said on Wednesday.

In 2025, as many as 1,131 farmer suicide cases were registered with the administration in the region which consists of eight districts.
