Whether you're staying home this bank holiday or you're heading off on a mini-summer break, sunny skies and searing temperatures makes it a perfect weekend to head to the beach. The South West has some of the best beaches in the country, though recent sewage spills might have many people concerned.
Surfers Against Sewage has issued two water quality alerts for beaches near Bristol, at Weston-super-Mare, with another alert for a beach further south in Somerset. Weston Main, Weston-super-Mare Sand Bay, and Dunster North West have all been issued water quality alerts.
Luckily, there are multiple other beaches in the South West which have been awarded the coveted Blue Flag status, boasting clean beaches with excellent water quality.
