A number of schools across northern Scotland are set to remain closed for a third consecutive day as the nation prepares for further widespread snow and icy conditions.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice and snow, which will come into effect across the northern half of the country from midnight on Wednesday and persist until 11::green-background[59] pm. Forecasters have cautioned that an additional 5-10cm of snow is likely to accumulate on ground above 100m, with higher elevations exceeding 200m potentially seeing up to 20cm.
