Manuel Neuer’s Youssoufa Moukoko plea as youngster addressed future amid Newcastle interest

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer urged Newcastle United transfer target Youssoufa Moukoko to leave Borussia Dortmund for his fellow Bundesliga rivals, as the shot-stopper made his feelings clear about the talented 18-year-old.

ChronicleLive reported on Tuesday that Eddie Howe's side are looking into signing the talented 18-year-old on a free transfer in the summer after the expiry of his current contract. Dortmund are understood to be desperate to try and convince their star to sign a new deal, with Newcastle hopeful of finding a way to tempt him to the Premier League.

Chelsea are also rumoured to be another potential suitor interested in the teenager, yet their interest in Atletico Madrid's Joao Felix could well provide Howe's side with a clear run at Moukoko. The Dortmund star can play on either wing and also through the middle, giving the Newcastle manager a number of options to choose from when considering how best to utilise him - should a move materialise.

During his time in Germany, Moukoko has made quite a name for himself and attracted the interest of numerous clubs closer to home. And it is clear how highly Bayern goalkeeper Neuer values the forward, after his compatriot made a cheeky plea for the youngster to join the Bavarian side.

As the duo were called upon to speak to the press ahead of Germany's World Cup campaign, Moukoko said: “I will make my decision [over his future] at the right moment. I feel so happy at Borussia Dortmund and I know [Dortmund manager] Edin Terzic trusts me”

His feelings appear to have changed since then, but it was the Bayern keeper's following comments that caught everyone off-guard. The 36-year-old jokingly blurted out: "Come to Bayern!"

Although the veteran's comments were no doubt in jest, Neuer knows first-hand just how good Moukoko can be. Newcastle will be hoping that next season they can say the same thing.
