Manu Kone is unlikely to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool rebuild this summer, according to reports.
Alexis Mac Allister has already arrived but more midfield reinforcements are expected given the recent departures. Several Borussia Monchengladbach players are linked with other clubs following their underwhelming Bundesliga campaign.
Die Fohlen finished 10th, provoking rumours linking stars like Kone with summer moves. Liverpool are one of the clubs reportedly expressing interest in the 22-year-old, who has represented France at youth level.
Monchengladbach sporting director Roland Virkus has already admitted Kone could be on the move in the coming months. He told Kicker: "Our attitude is well-known. If there are sums involved that a club like Borussia has to think about, we will do it."

A tall, energetic midfielder, Kone appears tailor-made to rejuvenate Klopp’s jaded midfield. While not a goalscorer, the former Toulouse man - valued at £35million - is a pressing machine and excels in breaking up the play.
However, Sky Sports Germany claim Anfield probably will not be Kone’s home next season. A report suggests the midfielder is not a “hot transfer target” but remains on Klopp’s shortlist.
The news serves as a fresh twist in the transfer saga, with no other Premier League clubs seemingly interested. Cooling interest could signify an approach for compatriot Kephren Thuram, named in the Ligue 1 team of the season, being more plausible.
