Mansion tax: what it means for Londoners and how it will work as John Healey prepares to deliver Budget

Properties valued at £2 million or higher will face a “mansion tax” from April 2028.

The move was announced by former chancellor Rachel Reeves in her Budget last year and there has been much speculation about whether her replacement, John Healey, will expand the scheme.
