Mansfield Town boss Carolyn Radford 'traumatised' after robbery at her Portugal home

Mansfield Town co-owner Carolyn Radford has broken the silence after she was robbed of a "lifetime of jewellery and watches with a market value of just under one million" while she was at home in Portugal. The CEO of Mansfield Town Football Club said she was left "exhausted, traumatised and devastated" after the incident which happened just after 10pm on Tuesday (August 2).

She decided to take a break from social media before telling her followers what happened in her Instagram stories on Friday evening (September 2). "Very briefly, just over a month ago (...) 4 masked robbers came into our home in Quinta do Lago, Portugal, when I was relaxing alone watching TV in bed.

"They stole a lifetime of jewellery and watches with a market value of just under a million but mostly it has left me just totally exhausted, traumatised and devastated", she added. The 40 year old entrepreneur said the "only saving grace" was that her three sons were not at home at the time of the incident.

She added: "This robbery comes just 18 months after I had my engagement ring violently ripped from my finger as I was on the school run in Portugal. The two thieves who did this have never been caught."

The devastated CEO said the incident comes just under three years since her family home in the UK was burgled "by a gang specifically targeting the homes of high-profile businessmen and women, footballers and celebrities". The gang were prosecuted receiving "significant prison sentences", she went on to say.

"However, none of the items stolen were ever recovered and we have not made any insurance claims in all three of these robberies." The businesswoman, who moved to the Algarve with husband John and their three boys, Hugo, Rupert and Albert in 2020, urged anyone with information about the incident to contact their family or the authority.

She added: "More than the loss of our personal belongings, our sense of security and safety has been totally violated. I have definitely struggled in recent weeks, but want to thank my amazing family and caring friends who have helped me through this and of course my absolute rock, my husband John."
