Manny Pacquiao says he will come out of retirement to face world champions

Manny Pacquiao has declared that he would be willing to come out of retirement after only a year to fight for a world title against either Errol Spence Jr or Terrence Crawford.

One of the most sought-after fights in world boxing is an undisputed welterweight title clash between Spence and Crawford, but the pair have been unable to make a deal work. Instead, Crawford is facing David Avanesyan tonight in a bizarre, but well-paying world title fight, while Spence's future is undecided.

And with fans clamouring for the pair to finally face each other, Pacquiao has thrown yet another spanner in the works by offering both men a chance for a massive money comeback fight. He is set to face YouTuber DK Yoo tonight in a charity exhibition, but is keen to make a legitimate return to the ring for a full professional bout.

“Of course I can fight Terrence Crawford or [Errol] Spence. I’m eager to fight with them to test them, to see if they’re really a champion,” Pacquaio told FightHype. “I’ve been fighting a lot of boxers at 147, 140, 135, I’ve been fighting one of the greatest boxers in the world. So, I want to test them to fight with me.”

Asked if he were surprised that the pair have been unable to make a fight happen, Pacquiao replied: “Yeah, but I don’t know what the reason is. But, I’m still here. Even though I was retired for more than a year, I keep on working and playing basketball, workout almost every day.”

The legendary eight-division world champion was due to face Spence in Las Vegas last year, but the current title-holder was forced to pull out due to an injury. Ugas stepped in on late notice, and dominated Pacquiao over twelve rounds to win a decision, with the legend retiring a few days later to pursue a presidential campaign.

Generally these exhibition bouts between professional boxers and social media stars tend to be light-hearted affairs, in which the likes of Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather moves around with someone like Deji, Logan Paul or DK Yoo. However, Pacquiao has vowed to look for the knockout and gauge his readiness for another run in the professional ranks.

DK Yoo is a trained martial artist and famous social media star in South Korea, and has competed in the ring once before. He was beaten over a six round decision by former UFC fighter Bradley Scott, but claims to have been harbouring serious injuries and promises a much better performance this time around.
