Manny Pacquiao Elected To International Boxing Hall Of Fame

Manny Pacquiao, the legendary boxer known for winning titles in a record eight weight classes, has been elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame. Pacquiao, who had a remarkable career spanning from 1995 to 2021, will be enshrined on June 8, 2025, as the headline name in the 2025 class.

Joining Pacquiao in the men's modern category are Vinny Paz, who overcame a broken neck to resume his career, and two-division champion Michael Nunn. In total, 14 individuals were selected for the prestigious honor through voting by members of the Boxing Writers Association of America and a panel of international boxing historians.

Pacquiao, with a professional record of 62-8-2 and 39 knockouts, was a standout choice in his first year of eligibility. His journey from a 106-pounder to a titleholder at 154 pounds showcased his exceptional skills and speed, defeating notable opponents like Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Miguel Cotto.

Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer and friend, expressed pride in their shared accomplishments, highlighting Pacquiao's impact on the sport and the world. Pacquiao's induction into the Hall of Fame marks a significant milestone in his illustrious career, aligning him with boxing greats like Flash Elorde.
