A group of four people who turned up at a court with a set of handcuffs and demanded to know where the senior coroner was have been jailed for their roles in a conspiracy to kidnap and falsely imprison him - (Essex Police)

Cult members who plotted to kidnap and falsely imprison a coroner they accused of “necromancy” have been jailed.

Senior coroner for Essex Lincoln Brookes, who was not at the coroner’s court in Chelmsford at the time, said he regularly has nightmares about the incident, Chelmsford Crown Court heard.
