A forklift was used to smash into a Spar in Blakelaw in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Just before 2.55am on Sunday 6, police received a report of a burglary at the Spar on Moulton Court.
It was reported that a forklift had been used to smash through the shutters of the store in order to get inside.

Those responsible for the burglary had taken a number of items including alcohol before fleeing the scene.
A picture of the aftermath shows badly damaged shutters at the front of the store.
An investigation is under way to find those responsible.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 2.55am yesterday (Sunday), we received a report of a burglary at a Spar on Moulton Court, Blakelaw.
"It was reported that a forklift had been used to break through the store shutters and those responsible had taken a number of items, including alcohol, before fleeing the area.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who may be able to assist officers should contact us via our ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website using reference number NP-20220306-0157."
