A blade was used in an attack outside a Northumberland pub, police have now revealed.
A 28-year-old suffered lacerations to his face in the incident, which happened near the John the Clerk of Cramlington pub, in Cramlington Village.
Last week Northumbria Police appealed for witnessed to the assault as they continued their hunt for the attacker.

And now officers have revealed that the perpetrator was armed. A spokeswoman said: "A 28-year-old man received injuries including a laceration to his face, believed to be caused with a bladed article."
The incident happened shortly after 11pm on Tuesday June 28. Since then police have been trawling CCTV and speaking to witnesses.
However, detectives believe there are still people out there that could have information.
Det Insp Sally-Ann Pallace, of Northumbria Police, said: “Our investigation is well underway as we look to understand the full circumstances around what has happened. We know this is a busy location and we expect there to have been several witnesses.
“Therefore, I am now asking anybody who was in that area at that time and has information and has not yet spoken to police to get in touch.
“If you think you may know any information that can assist our investigation, please contact us as soon as possible.”
