A busy road was closed for several hours on Sunday evening following reports of a "serious" crash in Hoylake.
Emergency services rushed to Meols Drive, near the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, shortly before 4.30pm on August 14 as around nine cars were seen by eyewitnesses "blue lighting it down the street". A police cordon was immediately put in place with the road closed up to the junction with Morpeth Road.
A grey Renault Clio was visible on the road near the golf club, with damage to the windscreen. Nearby the vehicle was a bicycle which showed signs of severe damage, including a snapped wheel and twisted frame.

An air ambulance was seen at the scene that afternoon as well as a paramedic car and ambulance vehicle, but left shortly after 5pm. Details remain limited, although Merseyside Police confirmed one man was taken to hospital. No information was provided on his condition.
More than a dozen officers were seen carrying out investigations within the police cordon, focusing on the pavement and road just outside of the golf club, which was also cordoned off. Motorists were being turned away from the area, being diverted through Drummond Road.
Residents were free to come and go, but pedestrians who did not live within the cordon were also being diverted. The road remained closed for several hours but traffic was said to be "coping well".
Traffic Monitoring INRIX confirmed there had been a "serious crash" as the road was still closed after 10pm due to "accident investigation work" between Morpeth Road and A553 Market Street (King's Gap Roundabout).
One woman had been out for a walk and was advised by police to access the other side via Drummond Road. She told the ECHO she wasn't aware the road had been closed but saw "loads of police" and hoped everyone was ok."
Concerns had been raised in the area, with residents saying it was a "busy" and "major" road, with the golf club regularly used, and expressed their fears over speeding and traffic management concerns. Several residents also took to social media on Sunday evening to call for a cycle lane.
Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service were approached for comment.
