Mangaluru: Woman uses social media to obtain breast milk for baby

MANGALURU: A social media post of a lactating mother, who sought breast milk for her premature newborn baby, got a good response, with a dozen donors offering help, soon after the post went viral. Anusha,26, a resident of Car Street, delivered a premature baby due to pre-eclampsia.

The baby weighed just 90g during birth, and two months later, when the baby was discharged from the hospital on Sunday, it weighed 1.4 kg. The premature delivery has caused the mother to produce less milk, and the doctors advised her to find donors, to tide over the shortage. With no help in hand, she took to social media to find donors. Within a day, she received over a dozen responses from people who were willing to donate breast milk.
