Manchester United overcame Blackburn Rovers in their Premier League 2 showdown on Friday night.
Goals from Omari Forson and Noam Emeran did the damage as the next generation underlined their progress with a 2-1 victory at Leigh Sports Village. Several other familiar names were also in action for the Under-21s as Nathan Bishop started in goal with Zidane Iqbal and Isak Hansen-Aaroen also featuring.
United headed into the match looking to make it five wins on the bounce and four in Premier League 2.

Forson opened the scoring and Emeran made it 2-0 in what was a controlled performance in the opening 45 minutes. Blackburn hit back in the second half, but the Under-21s remained strong to hold on for three points.
Emeran marked his strike by honouring Marcus Rashford and reproducing the "points to head celebration" he has made famous over the last few weeks with his devastating goalscoring run.
After stumbling to a heavy reverse against neighbours Manchester City in early November, United have now returned to form with domestic victories against Fulham, Liverpool, West Ham and Blackburn, while they also beat Dutch side Feyenoord between those games in the Premier League International Cup.
