Manchester United winger Amad has joined Rangers on loan for the rest of the season.
The 19-year-old underwent a medial earlier on Thursday and has not put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
There has been interest from European sides and Championship clubs in the higly-rated teenager during the January window, but it is Rangers who have won the race for his signature.
United were always keen for Amad to continue his development within British football in the second half of this season, but the attraction of a move to Rangers and the chance to play European football again was key.
The Glasgow club face Borussia Dortmund in a two-legged Europa League play-off in February.
Amad was due to join Feyenoord on a season-long loan at the end of the summer transfer window, but that fell through when he picked up a thigh injury just before the move was due to be sealed.
Rangers are top of the Scottish Premiership after last night's 1-0 win against Livingstone, with boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst looking to build on the success of Steven Gerrard in Glasgow.
“I am delighted to join Rangers until the end of the season,” said Amad. “It is fantastic for me at this stage of my career to have the opportunity to come to such a big club that is challenging on a number of fronts and will give me some excellent opportunities to test myself in many environments.
"I look forward to training with my team-mates for the first-time tomorrow and to meeting the fans for the first time at Ross County on Saturday.”
Van Bronckhorst has been an admirer of Amad for a while and couldn't pass up the opportunity to take him to Ibrox.
"I am really pleased to add Amad to our squad for the rest of the season," the Rangers boss said.
"He is a player who I have been aware of for some time, and when the opportunity to sign him came up, we very keen to make it happen. He will add a lot to our squad and provide even more competition for the players in the forward areas."
Amad has made just one appearance for United this season, playing 68 minutes in the Champions League dead rubber against Young Boys. He was an unused substitute in the FA Cup third round success against Aston Villa and the Premier League win against Arsenal under Michael Carrick.
He's played only twice for the Under-23s since returning from injury, playing the full games against Tottenham and Leeds. He scored twice and set up another goal in the second of those fixtures.
United have high hopes for Amad, having spent an initial £19million on signing him from Atalanta. That fee could eventually rise to £37million.
He arrived at United a year ago and played eight times last season, scoring his first senior goal against AC Milan, but his development has stalled this season as a result of his injury and United felt it was essential he went out to play regular football in the second half of the season.
