Anthony Martial starts for Manchester United in tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Aston Villa.
Antony, however, misses out.
Recently named in the Brazil World Cup squad, winger Antony is said by his national team doctor to be on the mend after a hip injury but his place in the third-round tie is not yet assured. Jadon Sancho, meanwhile, has sat out the last two games due to illness and once again does not play.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag said before the game: “Jadon Sancho, we have to wait. And Antony, we have to wait, today [Wednesday], on final training.”

Martial was able to return as a substitute last time out and Ten Hag confirmed he is once again part of the squad. The cup meeting is a hasty rematch following Villa’s cruise past United in Unai Emery’s debut at the weekend.
