Manchester United are still working on a compensation package that would convince Besiktas to terminate Wout Weghorst's loan and allow the striker to move to Old Trafford.
United have made an offer to Burnley, which has been passed on to the Turkish giants, but Besiktas have rejected that proposal and said they want to keep the 30-year-old until the end of the season.
Weghorst has scored nine goals in 18 games for Besiktas and they have a €10million option to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

But Erik ten Hag has identified the former Wolfsburg striker as someone who could add depth to his attack following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Weghorst is determined to swap Turkey for Old Trafford.
It is understood the first contact between United and Burney over a loan for Weghorst came as far back as before the two sides met in the Carabao Cup on December 21. Ten Hag is an admirer of his countryman and having been informed United could only afford a loan move for a striker in January, after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, he identified the 6ft 6ins striker as a prime target.
But Weghorst's loan deal from Burnley to Besiktas doesn't include a recall clause this month, so for United to sign the player it would require the Turkish side to receive a fee to agree to terminate the loan.
The initial offer has been turned down by Besiktas and it is understood officials at the Turkish club took a dim view of Weghorst waving goodbye to the club's supporters after scoring against Kasimpasa at the weekend.
Negotiations are currently taking place between all three clubs to try and strike a deal, with United paying a fee to Burnley, which would then be sent to Bestikas for the termination.
A new loan deal would then be struck between United and Burnley for Weghorst to move to Old Trafford for the remainder of this season.
