Manchester United are 'working on a deal' to sign Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips, according to the latest reports. The Manchester Evening News say the Red Devils have made a defensive midfielder their priority for the upcoming transfer window.
Speculation is beginning to ramp up regarding Phillips' future, with Liverpool, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and West Ham among those linked with a move for the Whites' midfielder. The Red Devils have also shown interest in Phillips' England team mates Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, but are put off by West Ham's asking price and Dortmund are reluctant to sell.
Phillips is under contract until the summer of 2024 with the club keen to tie him down to a new deal. Injury has disrupted his campaign this season, but he remains one of the club's most prized assets.
