Manchester United Women player ratings as Le Tissier and Batlle impress against Reading

Earps

Didn't have a lot to do for the majority of the game but her commanding voice at the back could be heard throughout the game. 6

Batlle

United's biggest threat going forward. She caused Reading numerous issues delivering cross after cross into the box, eventually registering a well-deserved assist. 8

Turner

Didn't have much to do throughout the game and was able to mostly sit back behind a strong midfield. 6

Le Tissier

The standout performer on the day. A brace and a clean sheet, you couldn't ask for more on your debut. 9

Blundell

Looked secure at the back but wasn't as adventurous going forward as her opposite full-back. 6

Zelem

A great performance to mark her 100th game. Converted United's penalty and her corner delivery was on point throughout the match. 8

Ladd

Cut out a number of Reading attacks high up the pitch and allowed the team to continue exerting pressure on their opponents, though had less to do in the second half. 6

Galton

A quiet game for the winger, who had a good chance to get on the scoresheet in the second half, but took too long to take the chance and was blocked. 6

Garcia

Garcia had a handful of moments where she showed her real quality linking up well with Batlle, but it looked like she was still building up connections with her teammates in these early stages. 6

Toone

Toone showed a lot of energy throughout her time on the pitch and could have easily been on the score sheet herself on multiple occasions but unfortunately was unable to convert her chances. 7

Russo

A quintessential number nine performance that United fans have come to expect from Russo. She was a menace in the first half, occupying the Reading defenders and getting a goal to show for it, but she did drop off in the second half. 7

Substitutes

Leon

Consistently tried to run in behind but unfortunately saw little success. 5.

Thomas

Had big shoes to fill replacing Russo and tried admirably but didn't have much luck up front. 5.

Boe Risa

Was largely anonymous when she was brought on, but United's intensity had dropped by that point with the win wrapped up. 5.

Moore

Shored up the United midfield after the team had taken their foot off the peddle. 6.

Parris

Was the most involved of United's substitutes, making smart runs in behind. Was unlucky not to get more out of her chances. A solid cameo. 6.
