Manchester United have been credited with an interest in both Cody Gakpo and Joao Palhinha.
Gakpo is understood to be catching the attention of some of Europe's biggest clubs, with Liverpool and Manchester City both tipped to make a move for the 22-year-old.
Palhinha has also been linked with a move to one of Europe's heavyweights. According to the Mirror, United are 'weighing up' moves for both players, with Gakpo of particular interest.
It has been reported that interim manager Ralf Rangnick has instructed the recruitment department to sound out attacking reinforcements as doubts continue to grow over United's current options.
Meanwhile, Sporting's Palhinha has recently signed an extension with the Portuguese outfit but fits the bill for the type of midfielder United are looking for.
The Mirror's report adds that Palhinha's new deal includes a release clause close to £50m, but United could be able to tempt Sporting with a bid of just £20m plus performance-based add-ons.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato claim United's attention has turned to Southampton's Tino Livramento.
The Saints paid just £5m for the full-back in the summer but have reaped the rewards of their savvy business after a number of standout performances from the former Chelsea man.
In a bid to fend off United's interest, the Italian outlet reports that Southampton may offer a contract extension to the youngster.
