Manchester United vs Wrexham: Prediction, kick-off time, team news, TV, live stream, h2h results, odds today

Manchester United get the ball rolling on their six-match pre-season campaign today as they face Wrexham.

After a rocky start to the 2025/26 campaign, Michael Carrick’s transformative appointment boosted the club’s fortunes massively. After signing a permanent deal, he has returned them to the Champions League and is preparing for what will surely be another gruelling season.

This match will give him a first opportunity to see his squad in action, and he will hope to give some academy talent and summer signings a run out. Andrey Santos joined from Chelsea this week and should be in line for his debut.

Wrexham, meanwhile, missed out on a place in the Championship promotion play-offs after being pipped by Hull, with just two points the difference.

It will be a second pre-season fixture of the summer for the Welsh outfit, who held Wisla Krakow to a goalless draw in Poland last week.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Manchester United vs Wrexham is scheduled for a 4pm BST kick-off today, Saturday, July 18, 2026.

The match will take place at Helsingin Olympiastadion in Helsinki, Finland.

Manchester United vs Wrexham prediction

For Carrick and United, a win will not necessarily be the expectation in this, their first match of the summer, where there is plenty more at stake than the full-time result.

There are fresh faces to integrate and new tactics to experiment with. Facing an unfamiliar opposition already one match into their own pre-season, United’s rust may dull their chances.

Wrexham are a solid team and will be a promotion contender this season, but United should be relatively confident coming into this match. A draw might be the most likely outcome.

Draw, 2-2.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

The most recent competitive meeting between these sides came in 1995, with United winning 5-2 in the FA Cup fourth round. Among the goalscorers that day were Denis Irwin, Ryan Giggs, and Brian McClair.

United have won all five of their competitive matches against Wrexham and kept a clean sheet in four of them.

Manchester United wins: 5
