Ruud van Nistelrooy leads Manchester United out as interim manager for the fourth and final time against Leicester on Sunday, and we’ve got the latest team news and confirmed lineups, as well as a prediction alongside our preview.
Manchester United vs Leicester Preview
Looking to maintain his unbeaten record as interim Manchester United manager, Ruud van Nistelrooy leads his side out for the final time before Ruben Amorim’s arrival against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Red Devils have won two and drawn one under their former striker, beating the Foxes 5-2 in the Carabao Cup a week and a half ago, drawing 1-1 with Chelsea last weekend, and most recently defeating PAOK 2-0 in the Europa League.
United head into Gameweek 11 languishing in 13th place in the English top-flight table, meanwhile Leicester are just two points behind in 15th place, five points clear of the relegation zone.

Steve Cooper’s side are winless in three consecutive matches since their comeback win over Southampton last month. Their most recent outing ended in a 1-1 draw with fellow newly promoted side Ipswich Town.
The Foxes have been on the losing end in each of their last three meetings with United, however they did go five games unbeaten against the 20-time English champions between December 2020 and April 2022.
Unsurprisingly, given their recent form, as well as the fact that the game is at Old Trafford, the UK’s best football betting sites are heavily favouring the Red Devils to claim three points in this one.
Manchester United Team News
Ivorian winger Amad Diallo made a strong case for a starting spot at the weekend by scoring twice in the win over PAOK on Thursday, and will partner Marcus Rashford on the flanks.
Elsewhere, the Red Devils welcomed back Mason Mount in midweek, who makes the bench, however England duo Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire remain ruled out with their respective concerns.
Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Antony and Leny Yoro are also due to miss out.
Leicester Team News
As for the visitors, they are without backup goalkeeper Jakub Stolarczyk due to an ankle injury.
Patson Daka and Hamza Choudhury, meanwhile, have returned to training, but while the latter makes the bench, Daka is not yet deemed ready.

Manchester United vs Leicester Prediction
We at SportsCasting are backing Manchester United to record a comfortable victory on Sunday afternoon, as they did when Leicester came to visit less than two weeks ago in the cup
The Red Devils are unbeaten under Van Nistelrooy, while the Foxes are winless in three, so it’s hard to envisage anything other than three points going the way of the hosts.
Leicester have every chance of getting on the scoresheet though, as they have scored in each of their last four matches, while United have kept just one clean sheet across their last six, which is why we’re backing a 3-1 scoreline in this one.
Prediction: Manchester United 3-1 Leicester
