Man Utd pay tribute to late fan

Man United will be led out today by two sons of PC Matthew Blades, a policeman who was killed in a crash on the A66 earlier this month.
Blades was a regular matchgoer and lifelong United supporter. He was killed alongside another officer in a head-on collision with a car travelling the wrong way on the motorway near Middlesbrough. Some 24 people have been arrested in connection with the accident.
A tribute in the matchday programme read: “Matthew was a proud Red, a devoted family man and a police officer who dedicated his life to helping others.”
There was another tribute earlier in the day as players in Leeds vs Brentford wore black armbands in Blades’ memory. He was a friend of referee Tony Harrington, while Middlesbrough staged a minute of applause ahead of their Championship meeting with West Brom..

Bruno Fernandes has been voted the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) player of the year, pipping three Arsenal stars to the honour.
The Gunners dominated the PFA’s team of the year after winning the Premier League for the first time since 2004, so it was no surprise to see them do the same in the player of the year running. Declan Rice, David Raya and Gabriel Magalhaes were all nominated, with Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki also in the running.
But Fernandes came out on top after a record-breaking campaign in which he scored nine goals and assisted a scarcely believable 21, helping United drag themselves back into European contention after a dismal start to the campaign under Ruben Amorim.

Habeeb Ogunneye has signed for Arsenal from Manchester United, it has been confirmed.
The young defender has been a regular in United’s academy ranks for some time, and spent last season on loan at Newport County.
Speaking on arrival in north London, Ogunneye said: "It feels great to be here, it's such a big club.
"When I heard [Arsenal] were interested in me, I said to my agents it's a no-brainer. Seeing all the young players that are coming through as well, so I just wanted to come straight away.
